Accounting Supervisor
Job Description:
Our client in For Collins is seeking a Accounting Supervisor to join its Accounting and Finance team. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced atmosphere where you will lead a team of accountants and manage the day to day accounting. The position reports directly to Senior Leadership.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor will plan and direct the accounting activities of the Accounting & Finance department under the direction of senior leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities of Accounting Supervisor:
- Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and general ledger work
- Demonstrates understanding, support, and consistent application of the Company Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Duties/Responsibilities of Accounting Supervisor:
- Oversee preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgets.
- Intercompany transactions and consolidated financial statements
- Manage the company's balance sheet, accounting books, and account reconciliations.
- Manage month-end close within NetSuite, ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversee the timely production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results inform management and lenders with accurate financial information.
- Coordinate with outside auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audit.
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams in the company, including legal, HR, and IT.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities of Accounting Supervisor:
Preference will be given to candidates with brewery or distillery cost accounting experience.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in NetSuite and MS Dyn 365 BC and other ERPs.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be comfortable handling confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
- Eight years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
