We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Compliance Specialist in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role involves a substantial focus on compliance, customer service, and general operations within our industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and compliance with relevant regulations.


Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

• Ensuring compliance with Section 42 (IRS) and/or Project-Based Section 8 (HUD) regulations.

• Facilitating effective and positive resident communications including handling inquiries and resolving issues.

• Assisting with the management of the leasing process, including conducting property tours and ensuring all documentation is compliant with regulations.

• Coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure effective completion of work orders, inspections, and property upkeep.

• Assisting with rent collection and ensuring compliance with rent payment policies.

• Managing the property's budget, including monitoring expenses, approving invoices, and assisting with financial reporting.

• Ensuring compliance with all affordable housing regulations and guidelines, including maintaining accurate resident and property records.

• Providing support to the Community Manager and other team members, and participating in team meetings to contribute to the development of strategies to improve community operations.

• Assisting with the preparation of reports for regulatory agencies, management, and ownership.

• Demonstrated proficiency in CRM software
• Strong data processing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
• Experience in auditing processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency
• Proficiency in check processing operations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements in a business environment
• Experience in creating and maintaining compliance documentation
• Proven skills in compliance management, ensuring all operations meet regulatory standards
• Knowledge of corporate tax compliance procedures
• Familiarity with HUD guidelines and regulations
• Experience in indirect tax compliance, including VAT and sales tax procedures
