RCLA, a landscape architecture firm in Carbondale, Colorado, seeks a landscape designer to join our energetic and creative design studio.

RCLA is committed to design excellence and creating sustainable, beautiful landscapes that evoke a sense of place. RCLA’s diverse portfolio focuses on residential design and includes site planning, municipal parks, retail and mixed-use developments, and multi-family developments in the Aspen area and the Roaring Fork Valley. A successful candidate will demonstrate superior design skills, creativity, and a passion for continued learning and professional growth. They must be creative, organized, detail-oriented, efficient, adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities, and able to work collaboratively and confidently. They will work as an independent contractor and should be proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) specifically VectorWorks for Mac. The applicant will work from home and must live within a reasonable distance of Carbondale, Colorado in order to conduct site surveys, meet with clients, contractors, and installers, and collaborate on designs.

Skills Required

  • BLA from an accredited Landscape Architecture program
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • Proficiency with CAD, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp
  • Excellent hand graphics
  • General understanding of plant material selection and use
  • Ability to complete CAD drawings in accordance with office standards
  • Construction document and detailing experience preferred
  • Strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy
